Hayden Smoot

As most everyone knows, Hayden is in the Marines and is currently stationed in Afghanistan. An RPG detonated near him last Monday/Tuesday. Not much is known by the family about what happened, but he has emailed Dan and told him that "he is doing fine. That he got hit with some fragmentation in a couple of spots and is healing up." I though we should all be thinking about our loved ones overseas serving our Country. Sending you our love Hayden- recover fast!!! Love the Allens and the rest of the Renneker clan!

Uncle Sonny's Class Reunion and New Home

October was an exciting month for our Uncle Sonny. First he flew to Sacramento where he stayed with neice Val who escorted him to all kinds of fun activities. One picture shows Uncle Sonny at his 70th class reunion with a class mate (they graduated from high school in 1940). He also visited the "New Castle" twice, had dinners with old friends, had Chinese food, and sang lots of show tunes to Val. After he returned to Cathedral City, neice and nephew-in-law, Susan and Jerry, helped him move to his new home . Thanks to lots of wonderful friends at Desert Sands Mobile Home Park, the move went smoothly. He moved 5 doors down on the same street to 1171 Via Fresno, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Phone number remains the same: 760 328 7830. Give him a call or send him a note to welcome him to his new home. Sabrina loves her "new digs" too where a fenced in yard will keep her safe.

thought an update would be nice :)

hello family!

as most of you know i have moved to bozeman, montana. i am working for a company called RightNow Technologies in digital marketing. it is different than anything i've ever done, and am learning a ton. it is a big change from working at a golf resort, but i'm excited to feel it out...so far it's great, and everyone that i work with is really friendly.

i found a random roommate off of craigs list that has worked out better than i could have hoped, and live three blocks from downtown. bozeman is just big enough while keeping a super chill small town feel. the mountains are close and the skiing is awesome! here is one picture and i'll try and add more later, it wouldn't let me for some reason...so excited to see everyone at the olympics!

Uncle Sonny

Couldn't figure out how to edit. I meant cheerful greeting, not cheerful greating.

Uncle Sonny's Current Address

In case you have not heard, Uncle Sonny has been ill. First he went to the hospital with pneumonia, then to a facility for rehab, and then to a group home for care. We hope he will get strong enough to return home in 30 days. David Smoot visited from Minesota to get him settled and will return to the desert for a week after Easter. Scott Smoot is staying in the area this week and will visit Uncle Sonny to check on his progress. Uncle Sonny's address and phone number follows so you can send him a cheerful greating: Uncle Sonny Silvia, 32175 Cathedral Canyon Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234 (760-992-8901) I talked to him today and he seems very content.

SPRING IS COMING!

Spring is in the air. That means that Easter is right around the corner (April 3- at the Trautman's) and the Olympics are getting closer (yee-haw!). Email us your registration or send it through the mail. We need to make sure we know how many people will be there so we can plan the festivities. An email is coming soon with more details. Thanks! Winter is here... Send your Olympic forms...

Winter has hit Tahoe and it hasn't stopped snowing for almost two weeks now. I'm not complaining, I just wish I could work less and ski more. Here's a view of our street this morning. The banks are getting taller and the streets are getting smaller.

With that said, please send your Olympic Registration forms in. I will be sending out an email with the form attached so you can just email it back to me if that is easier. Or snail-mail it back to me at: P.O. Box 1498, Tahoe City, CA 96145. Hope 2010 is treating everyone well. Love, Bree
