Uncle Sonny's Current Address

In case you have not heard, Uncle Sonny has been ill. First he went to the hospital with pneumonia, then to a facility for rehab, and then to a group home for care. We hope he will get strong enough to return home in 30 days. David Smoot visited from Minesota to get him settled and will return to the desert for a week after Easter. Scott Smoot is staying in the area this week and will visit Uncle Sonny to check on his progress. Uncle Sonny's address and phone number follows so you can send him a cheerful greating: Uncle Sonny Silvia, 32175 Cathedral Canyon Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234 (760-992-8901) I talked to him today and he seems very content.

SPRING IS COMING!

Spring is in the air. That means that Easter is right around the corner (April 3- at the Trautman's) and the Olympics are getting closer (yee-haw!). Email us your registration or send it through the mail. We need to make sure we know how many people will be there so we can plan the festivities. An email is coming soon with more details. Thanks! Love, THE ALLEN'S

Winter is here... Send your Olympic forms...

Winter has hit Tahoe and it hasn't stopped snowing for almost two weeks now. I'm not complaining, I just wish I could work less and ski more. Here's a view of our street this morning. The banks are getting taller and the streets are getting smaller.

With that said, please send your Olympic Registration forms in. I will be sending out an email with the form attached so you can just email it back to me if that is easier. Or snail-mail it back to me at: P.O. Box 1498, Tahoe City, CA 96145. Hope 2010 is treating everyone well. Love, Bree

Success

My dad found this in the Dear Abby section of the paper and cut it out and put it on their fridge. Doug doesn't' always say a lot...maybe that's why when he does say something or do something special it means a lot to me. I wanted to share this poem (in light of Mother's Day) because it touched me... Love, Bree

SUCCESS
You can use most any measure
When you're speaking of success.
You can measure it in fancy home,
Expensive car or dress.
But the measure of your real success
Is the one you cannot spend.
It's the way your kids describe you
When they're talking to a friend.
